'SHUT GUANTANAMO NOW!' PROTEST
American Embassy, London, 15 July 2006
The protest was organised by several organisations, including the National Guantanamo Coalition, Stop The War Coalition, Hizb ut-Tahrir, the MPACUK and Amnesty International.
Sabah el-Banna led the protest march from Marble Arch to the American Embassy, along with her two boys and buggy containing some placards. This was also seen recently at a Liberty protest against CIA 'torture flights', also at the American Embassy.

Dr Azzam Tamimi delivers an emotive and angry speech. He denounces the 'Zionist-Americans' for being racists and terrorists, and also lashes out against Israeli 'terror' during the recent problems with Hizbullah and Lebanon. Dr Tamimi has previously said that he wouldn't mind being a suicide bomber in Israel, and that he supported the concept on Israeli soil. He blogs occasionally at Guardian's Comment is free weblog, where his articles have proved controversial.
MP George Galloway also made an angry speech and repeatedly waved his finger to the American Embassy's building, calling them 'terrorist filth', among other things. Galloway lashed out at The Sun journalists for this article in the morning's newspaper.

This photographer had a notice on the back of his shirt reading: 'terror suspect'. The police seem to have caught the joke because he was not arrested.

Who can argue with that?
Sabah el-Banna's children, Anas and Mohammed, read their speeches to the crowd.

Babar Ahmad was arrested on suspicion of operating jihad web network, with alleged links with (the now dead) Chechen terrorist Shamil Basayev -- who was responsible for the Beslan children massacre -- and the Taleban.
