CONDOLEEZZA RICE VISIT TO ENGLAND

Blackburn, England, 1 April 2006

Hizb Ut-Tahrir, an organisation listed as a terrorist group by Russia, and banned in Germany for being too anti-Semitic. But they are legal in Britain.

A few Muslim men take it on themselves to educate others about Islam. The men on the left are not interested, but they insist.

Deja vu ... here is our 'Moral Picket Line' from Liverpool re-emerging in punctual fashion in Blackburn. You've got to admire this lady's persistence.

Condi Rice and her entourage arrive at Blackburn cathedral in the black Range Rover. I bet those windows are bullet-proofed.

These British police motorcycles remind me of the Lego ones I used to play with as a child. They look just as cool in real life.

Police taking pictures again. But they seem to be less aggressive than the police at the March for Free Expression in London the previous weekend ... I guess that people waving cartoons are more dangerous than those shouting for Jack Straw and Condi to be arrested.

Condi leaving Blackburn cathedral, on her way to the town hall ... where more protesters are already waiting to 'welcome' her ...

Arriving at the town hall. Waving, not drowning. Loud cries of 'shame, shame, shame on you!!' echo in the cool North England air.

The banner reads: 'Secularism has failed the world'. I guess Islam is the answer to all our problems.

A bearded man summoning the troops to gather to the other side to listen to the speakers, while Condi is in the town hall.

And we have music too.

Alex Martindale holding the microphone. He is the creator of the condiwatch.co.uk website. To his right is 'George', who somehow reminds me of Jasser Arafat.

George close-up.

Home-made posters are best.

A woman showing off the infamous sequence of the Palestinian man and his child who are shot by Israeli forces. Many people believe that this event was staged.

The picture of Condi in this banner is the infamous doctored version, attempting to make her eyes look evil.

Loud cries ring out, and eventually work up into a frenzy:

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON YOU!!
SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON YOU!!
CONDI RICE GO HOME!!
CONDI RICE GO HOME!!
GEORGE BUSH TERRORIST!!
GEORGE BUSH TERRORIST!!

Rice, Straw and entourage emerging from the town hall.

This redhead is always around. I wonder who she is.

... and into the Rice-mobile. You can only see Condi's feet in this capture.

The people are elated when she leaves.

The guy with the blue jacket on causes an uproar when he supposedly voices support for Rice. The men to the left start shouting abuse at him, like: "Nazi scum!! Out Nazi scum!!"

The police decide to intervene, before the argument becomes physical.
