"BOYCOTT ISRAEL" DEMO IN PARIS
March from Châtelet to Opéra, Paris, France, 12 August 2006
Thousands of protesters gathered in Paris on 12 August to demonstrate against Israel and call for a European Union boycott of Israeli products. The protest march was attended by a mix of various Communist/Maoist groups and Islamist supporters of Hezbollah. Smaller protests were held throughout the week in Paris, including one at the Eiffel tower on Thursday 10 August. See here for coverage of Green Helmet Guy posters.

Hezbollah enthusiast shouts "Allahu Akbar!" repeatedly.

Various Communist organisations took part in the protest. The ones pictured above are Maoists.

This Lebanese girl was pictured at Bastille on Tuesday 8 August.

The woman's poster above reads: "The Near East will never be the 53rd U.S. state." She does not mention, however, which ones make up the 51st and 52nd states. [Hat tip: Zombie]

The six photos below all depict scenes featuring the infamous Green Helmet Guy. There were allegations that these scenes were staged by Hezbollah supporters as propaganda material -- and distributed widely by AP and Reuters news agencies. In the Parisian rallies, Green Helmet Guy posters were by far the most popular in depicting civilian casualties.
